Oh Deer!

Thanks for the feedback on yesterdays photo. It did look a little dark, didn't it? The larger version seemed a bit brighter, but I think I will probably brighten it up a bit to be on the safe side.

I saw this sign while driving in North Vancouver and had to stop and capture it. I actually passed it, not paying too much attention. About thirty seconds later I gave my head a shake and said "was that an elephant?" I was curious enough to turn the car around and investigate. Sure enough, I had seen correctly. It's not artistic, but I thought it was funny so I figured I'd share it with you.

The skies are still grey here, but the famous Uncle Robert chastised me in an email from Korea this week telling me that "everyone shoots photos when its nice; the real guys do so when its sucky!" Therefore, I'm out of here. Today I'm going out to that magical place where the suburbs meet the country.

That sign is a riot! Would love to hear the story about the posting of that sign.

Your uncle's right. I was moaning about our hazy, hot, humid, washed out skies this morning and decided I was going to have to work around them some how. Good luck to us both. I'll be looking foward to your shots from today.

That's the spirit...get out there and shoot! As a matter of fact, I JUST got in from shooting and beat out a killer lightning storm...the light beforehand though is stellar.

Love this shot...I'm a big fan of bizarre signs!

I wonder why they did that?? That is odd. Too funny.

To answer your question about some of my shots with the painting effects... I submit some of the photos on my blog to the stock sites where I'm a member and painting is a way I can "mask" the photo. I'm really kind of liking the painting effects you can achieve. Thanks!!

LOL!
Think of it this way though:elephnts are slow, they want you to slow down too :D
If I had to judge the shot think it would look better with much more space arond it and following rules of thirds.
GREAT SHOT!

Amazing...you got a good eye to catch hilarious stuff like this...as far as the shot goes you've framed it perfectly by putting the sign bang in the middle...this really put a brightener on my day.
Cheers! :)
