Blurry, but Good?
I took this picture in the middle of a very sunny day while in Oregon this week. While the conditions were not exactly ideal, this peony (I think that's what it was) had just been watered and I liked the way the beads of water looked on the flower pedals. The photo didn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but I thought I would share it with you anyway.
I didn't have my tripod with me, so I wasn't able to get the exposure I wanted. I would have liked to have more of the subject in focus, but, as we have previously discussed, my camera can't do it. I sharpened it in order to compensate. The dimensions of the crop are perhaps a bit odd, but I wanted to crop out any distractions such as leaves and the background.

This turned out even more blurry after I uploaded it. Bummer.
nice macro.. would have loved to see the whole flower with the droplets...
Great crop and nice job with the close-up! Love the water drops!
really great shot tim - i dont usually like flower shots too much - but this is great - its different and very original in its crop etc.
This is really nice - it does look a little blurry, but there's still plenty of detail in the petals, and the water droplets are a nice touch.
Hi timmybomb,
Are you home yet?
Just wanted to tell you I wrote you a little note about yesterdays photo.
I think this shot needed a tripod. FP thinks you should have a tripod fastened to your camera at all times. Maybe if we welded the bulky thing to our cameras, we would take better pictures - that's if we ever took the contraption anywhere!

I dont think its blurry. Look at the clarity of the droplets.
I think this is a very creative shot, well executed. Lovely red color. I once heard someone say "If it's red, shoot it!"
Yes Timmy : Blurry but good!
Especially good because it looks much better on the black backgound of the blog which gives the illusion of a satrong contrast which is why it turns out to look so vivid and pleasing.GREAT GREAT SHOT!
water droplets = good
love the different shades of the rich red
;)
It's not all blurry. You have a lot of sharpness in the centermost drops. It works with the red. Excellent. P.S. Isn't red hard to get sharp in bad lighting conditions? Doesn't it take a lot of data to record the Red channel? Anywyay, thinking out loud. Cheers, Brent
brilliant! so nice.
Lovely shot. Timmy, increase quality % of your jpeg to reduce blur, and I notice blow outs over the drops. Flash?
